At Motion, we’re always focused on enhancing how teams work together and manage projects more efficiently. Today, we’re excited to introduce our latest feature: Attachments! This new functionality enables users to upload and organize files directly within Motion, whether it’s in tasks, projects, or project workflow templates.

How Attachments Work

With the Attachments feature, you can now add files like PDFs, images, CSVs, and more right into your Motion items. Here’s how you can use it:

  1. Adding Attachments to Projects and Tasks: Each project and task now includes an Attachments section where you can easily add files. Simply click on the “Add Attachment” option, choose your file, and Motion will place it inline, keeping everything you need in one place. For example, you might add reference images, reports, or supporting documents to a project or a specific task for quick access.
  2. Preview and Download Options: Files added to projects and tasks can be previewed with a single click, letting you quickly access your content without leaving Motion. You can also download files if you need a local copy.
  3. Integration with List View and Kanban Board: The Attachments feature seamlessly integrates across views, so you’ll see an attachment icon in Kanban boards and an Attachments column in the list view, making it easier to know at a glance which tasks and projects have associated files.
  4. Attachment Search: Need to find a specific file fast? Use Motion’s search functionality or the command shortcut (Cmd+K) to locate attachments across your workspace efficiently.
  5. Adding Attachments to Events and Workflow Templates: Attachments aren’t limited to tasks and projects; you can also add them to events and meetings associated with project workflow templates. Plus, if you’re working with project workflow templates, files can be added directly to the template or to individual tasks within it, helping you standardize essential documents across similar projects.

Some of these features are rolling out immediately, while others will become available over the next few weeks. We’re excited to see how you use Attachments to streamline your project workflows and keep your documents right where you need them.

With this new feature, Motion continues to simplify project management, helping you stay organized and focused. Try out Attachments today, and as always, happy scheduling!
